(glass tank not supplied) Please be sure if purchasing a glass tank, that it is a standard size eg 36"x12" generally by either 12" or 15" deep, the attic then sits inside the tank on the tank lips. To be sure make sure the internal tank measurements are approx. 35.25"x 11.25" Many Degu (and similar small rodent) owners like their pets to burrow and keep them in glass fish tanks. By using a tank top attic you can now give them the benefit of the extra space, and a mesh cage to climb around. Cage size approx 35.25"x 11.25"x23.25" tall. This attic has a 1" deep galvanised steel tray (although a version with a 4" deep tray is available) Like my other Degu Attic cages it has a 3" diameter pop hole/shutter for access between tank and cage. The shutter operates from outside the cage, so you can open or shut the pop hole whilst cage is on top of tank. As such if pets are encouraged into cage and shut off then it can be removed and glass tank can be safely cleaned or attended to as required. The attic can be used as a separate cage if required. As in most cases the attic is much taller than the glass tank, for security to prevent the attic from falling off it is supplied with two hook fixings (to use upside down)that will stick onto glass tank and two spring straps to hold mesh top to tank. ** hooks supplied are self sticking, but it is advisable to stick them to glass tank with a good glue** Cage complete with 2 wood shelves, fixed hay rack,1 large front door. Cage is constructed of 3/4"(19mm) x 16g square mesh so not suitable for very small rodents. | |
